    Winter Wonderland

written by Dick Smith & Felix Bernard

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening

In the lane, snow is glistening

    A beautiful sight

    We're happy tonight

    Walking in a winter wonderland

    Gone away is the bluebird

Here to stay is a new bird

    He sings a love song

    As we go along

    Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman

Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

    He'll say:  Are you married?

    We'll say:  No man

But you can do the job

    When you're in town

    Later on, we'll conspire

As we dream by the fire

    To face unafraid

    The plans that we've made

    Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman

And pretend that he's a circus clown

We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman

Until the other kiddies knock him down

When it snows, ain't it thrilling

Though your nose gets a chilling

We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way

    Walking in a winter wonderland

    Walking in a winter wonderland

    Walking in a winter wonderland

For years I have been asked to record some Christmas songs. Winter Wonderland is my first holiday recording. Done in the classic pop style of the 60's of with lush strings and happy jingle bells, this is the kind of holiday music I grew up on in Connecticut - Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, Elvis, all that classic pop. My brothers and I would watch the TV specials and listen to the albums. As a child, you knew it was almost Christmas when you heard these great songs. I wanted to honor that time and place with a classic pop version of the song. I hope it will bring back fond memories of the holidays to people of all ages. Winter Wonderland was originally written in 1930's by Felix Bernard and Dick Smith. This version of the song was produced by Dan Marfisi at Jones House Music and mastered by multi-Grammy Award Winner Gavin Lurssen at Lurssen Mastering; artwork is by Orlando Rios who also designed most of my artwork. - dh
